Q: I'm a senior golfer handicapped from the forward tees. What is my official handicap if I play from the club tees?
A: The Sanlam Cancer Challenge Conditions of Competition (which can be downloaded from www.sanlamcancerchallenge.co.za) state two things relevant to the answer to this question:
1. You need to play from your official handicap in accordance with the criteria laid down SAGA Handicapping System (see condition 3.5); and
2. All players in the Mens competition must play from the same tee (see condition 2.3).
So if a senior golfer, whose handicapped off the forward tees, has an official handicap of 18, for example, and plays in his club competition from the club tees then his handicap will be adjusted as outlined in the SA Golf Handicap Manual point 11(which is available on www.handicaps.co.za) as follows: assuming the course par for the forward tees is 72 with an SR of 70. The club tee course par is also 72 with SR of 72. The senior golfer in this case will play from his handicap + 2 shot = 20.
Q: How do clubs enter division winners into the Regional Finals?
